Our orthotic services are focused on prescribing patients with orthotic devices, fitting those devices, and providing ongoing care for as long as required. Orthotic devices, or orthoses, are devices worn externally on the body to control, realign and support bones and muscles.
In particular, they can do the following:
Orthotic devices can be applied to any part of the body, from neck braces and spinal supports to insoles and footwear, and can be used to treat a wide range of conditions or injuries. Our orthotists have an in-depth knowledge of the body’s biomechanics, and can give expert advice to patients on the options available. They also ensure that the orthosis is perfectly suited to the user’s needs, and provide ongoing treatment and monitoring.
The Opcare clinical team create bespoke orthoses using 3D scanning technology to capture the exact shape of an individual’s body part, meaning the resulting device will fit comfortably and function correctly. Opcare’s sister company, Ortho Europe, has four factories in the UK, all of which have access to the most advanced materials and manufacturing techniques, as well as decades of experience in creating custom orthotic devices – guaranteeing a high quality and reliable end product.
Many of our orthotic services run satellite clinics around the central clinical hub, making it easier for users to reach the service. We also run clinics devoted to particular conditions or user groups, such as diabetic foot clinics or paediatric clinics.
